After my trip to Scotland delivering some training and marking the exams, the friend who got me the work contacted me on Monday if I was interested in some more work of a similar type.
Normally this wouldn’t be an issue and yes I was interested in doing some more of the lecturing work.
The problem was when he called I was in sissy secretary mode in the office and the call came in on the land line. So what’s the issue?
It is valentines week and Master had set me the task of booking a hotel and dinner reservation for Madam and Him in London. I had made the initial booking on line using one of my work email addresses in the name of Ms Billie Watson – my secretarial name. about 18 months ago Madam had decided that my time in the office for most of my work could be done by a secretary or an admin assistant and as such I would take on the role, dress and responsibilities. I even had to submit a CV and be interviewed by Sir for my suitability for the role. (I think that the blog post that covered this was on the old WordPress site, but I may still have it some where.)
So when it comes to these types of bookings and just generally working in the office I need to be Ms Billie Watson (I’ll explain the origin of the name later). Madam and sir occasionally phone the office line and they expect Ms Watson to answer not Mick Luff, and having already spoken to the hotel I was waiting for them to call back with confirmation of the bookings and the details.
So when the phone rang I picked it up and answered “Xxxx Consultancy, Ms Watson speaking”
I didn’t get the booking office but my friend, “Oh, eh, Is Mick in the office?”
well I bluffed it, “no, sorry Sir, he’s out meeting a client this afternoon”.
Now I was keeping my voice as soft and quiet as I could and to be honest I’ve found that I tend to use a slightly rural Kentish accent as that was the area that I spent time as a kid and a teenager.
I took the details and contact information for “My Boss” and I promised that Mick would call back once he was back in later that afternoon.
I put the phone down and then realised that my heart was going at 20 to the dozen!!
2 hours later I called my friend back (he’s not a mate but a guy that I’ve worked with several times in the past and we get on very well – so we know each other but we don’t know each other well – if that makes sense.)
“Hi Alistair, sorry I missed you earlier I was out with one of the local clients…” and so we started to chat and he offered me another couple of days worth of tutoring as a stand in and also the promise of quite a few bits of future work if I was interested. Yes I was interested and could he email the details through. No problem!
Once we had finished the official business part of the chat thing got onto general chat pleasantries and then he spoke about billie…
“Mick, you sly old bugger, does you Missus know you’ve got a secretary?”,
“Eh, yes, it was her idea to get one. to take the pressure of me and to cut my hours in the office”
“Oh right, well if the wife chose her then chances are we’re not talking about a 21 year old in a short skirt then!”
“No Alistair, we’re not talking about a 21 year old, she’s in her 50’s and bloody good at her job!”
It was good humoured banter and to be honest it actually gave me quite a buzz of excitement (and confidence ) that I had managed to carry it off. I chatted with Alistair for about another 10 minutes and then put the phone down.
I sank back into my seat and looked down at myself, looking at the physical presence of Ms Billie Watson, dressed in short pleated skirt, white blouse, stockings and heels. Yes the secretary may not be 21 but she’s certainly one for the short skirts and stockings!
Whats in a Name?
Madam has explained in an earlier blog post that she slected my name of billie as it is linked with my middle name of William, she wanted a more feminine name and so billie was chosen rather than billy.
Watson is the maiden name of my Maternal Grandmother and Madam thought that would be an appropriate surname to use and suitably removed from Mick’s surname of Luff.
So that how my secretary persona is Ms Billie Watson, a very busy member of staff in my business!

Its a very good point, dressing generally does have me more submissive and my voice and pitch does lower. while it isn't a deliberate "forced" change of voice it does seem to be a natural action.
it probably also helped that my voice on the call back was that of what Alastair was expecting to hear from me, a slightly deeper, confident voice with a slightly stronger accent.
Well done you! Pulling off that feminine telephone voice on a moment's notice is so difficult and it must have been so nerve-wracking! Especially having to fool someone you know. Isn't it interesting how clothes really do 'make the man' (or woman)? My feminine persona changes subtly depending upon how I am dressed. When dressed as a frilly maid I am much more submissive and girly than when I am dressed in my secretarial outfit. When I'm a secretary I am much more flirty and less obviously submissive (but always ready and willing to bend over that desk!).
P, Ive gotten used to using my "telephone voice" when doing the table bookings and things for Madam and Sir for their nights out, but that call was more a quick reaction, so I just did it.
generally we try and keep things "tight" on who we interact with but occasionally when we visit Mistress Carol and kerri that when we meet their friends. I've had to do Maid duties at a few parties when with them and there has been people that I didn't know at that – that was a buzz, both nervous buzz and exciting.
I'm sure that Madam and Sir will have plans to further push things – just to keep things interesting and "fresh".

Hi billie – that's such a wonderful experience and i can see why you must be so chuffed to have pulled off the secretary role, even with someone you know. Maybe Madam or Sir could have you introduced to people known to them but not you in real life as their secretary if they haven't already 🙂 That would be fun!
Incidentally, my Grandma's maiden name was Watson. We could be family….:)
