Straightening those Stocking Seams

 This week has not got off to a good start to be honest, with a number of things all coming together to just make things difficult.

I’ve been physically very tired at the end of each day, despite getting a good nights sleep.  Added to which some of my work clients have made Monday a day of misery while I tried to undo some of the stupid things that their contractors had done over the weekend.  This over spilled into Tuesday and today has been a day of catching up with what would have been originally planned for Monday.

Yes I have been a little bit cranky and some what grumpy!

However that changed with two emails that I received this afternoon.  

Several months ago I was asked to deliver some focused training to a previous client that had 3 members of staff going for professional qualifications.  I went to the company and met the 2 young men and the young woman.  The training went well and all 3 were great students to work with.  I set them some follow on training to do and told them to use me as a mentor to check on their progress.  All of them did and they were all going for their professional exams 6 weeks ago.  It appears that they got their results this week and all 3 have passed – Great! fantastic news.  That wasn’t the good part of the emails I received today.

The emails were from the young woman and she was writing on behalf of all three of them to tell me that they had passed and to thank me for the help that I had given.  That gave me a real lift and made me smile, its always good to be appreciated.

The interesting part was a follow on email from the woman with a very personal thank you.

When I delivered the training it was at their company offices, using one of their small conference rooms, over the 3 days that I was there I noticed that this young woman was wearing each day either seamed stockings or seamed tights.  As someone with a stocking fetish I do tend to pay attention to these types of things.

During some of the breaks we would go to the coffee area or their kitchen area.  I, and several of the other staff members, would notice that this woman’s stockings seams were crooked.  A female work colleague would occasionally point it out and she would quickly disappear and come back with seams straight.  This would be a regular part of each day.

It was interesting to overhear a conversation from some of the female staff talking about the fact that this woman couldn’t keep her seams straight and their view is that she should just wear normal tights.

On my last day I had the opportunity to have a chat with the woman during the lunch break and I asked if she would object to me asking a question and perhaps offer a bit of advice.

“I notice that you keep having problems with your Seams? Are they stockings?”

A slight stunned silence and a answer of “Yes they are”

“Are you using a 4 or 6 strap suspender belt?, I suspect you are using a 4 strap belt”

I got a look that told me to be careful as your next comments might make her scream.

“My wife regularly wears seamed stockings and we have found that a vintage style 6 strap suspender belt or retro girdle keeps the seams in position.”

The change in her expression was great to see. she smiled and she started to explain that she liked the retro look and liked wearing stockings but was having constant problems with keeping seems straight.  I explained that I often help ensure that my wife’s seams where straight and then helped to fasten the suspender clips onto the stockings.

I pointed out that often the twisting of the body to reach the tab and pulling of the stocking to the clip occasionally pulled the seam out of position .

I also told her that rear suspender straps on a 4 strap belt did not normally line up with the seam and would often move the stocking as you sit down and stand up.  I certainly didn’t go into details or the fact that I was sat there with her wearing my own 6 strap suspender belt!

So the second email that arrived today from the young woman was a very personal email with a thank you from her.  She had recently been to a 1940s weekend and her new 6 strap suspender belt had managed to keep everything in place and looking very smart.  She attached 2 photos from the weekend of her with her hair done 1940s style and looking very lovely in period dress and shoes and the second was a rear shot of her and her perfect stockings seams.  It would appear that I have helped to convert another person to retro lingerie, perhaps this is one of my missions in life? 

She ended her email with a small comment that she had even managed to encourage her boyfriend to adjust her stockings each morning before she goes to work!  To be honest I should get a thank you from her boyfriend for giving her that Idea! Lucky Lad!

Overall these emails made me smile but particularly the second email had made my day and drastically improved what had started as a rather crap work week.  It certainly made me feel better.
